As a family of many faiths this December has been long. Actually we started Chanukah a few days early with my family on our trip. Pretty quickly every day turned into “Can I have some presents?” and “I want this…I want that” and “Is it time to open another present?” On day three of eight I was ready to throw all the presents out. I was determined to do something about. Thus begun our holiday spirit mission. Guess what? It worked, Alder now asks more about decorations and cookie making than gifts. Of course he’s four and an American so he still asks about his gifts but it’s not the only conversation we’re having.
