….which I don’t have yet is making this blog photo-less for a little while.
Anyway, life is continuing on around here. We were up in the mountains a few days ago and Alder went skiing with his godMama while we went snow shoeing, there has been getting our bathroom ready for painting, a homeschooling day at the Botanic Gardens, some really beautiful walks, a few late night bad movie watching times, and a lot of journaling.
And there have been fun questions that I’ve been posing to my friends, which I thought I’d add here.
1. What books did you loose yourself in as a child? (Don’t just limit it to good literature)
2. What places nourish you? Where do you go to recharge?
Have a good weekend!
books i remember from childhood were Charlotte’s Web and all of the Winnie the Poohs.
Such wonderful questions. As a child, I loved reading (and grew up to be a children’s librarian – go figure). I lost myself in the Frances picture books, The Phantom Tollbooth, Anne of Green Gables, and especially, Where the Red Fern Grows (I so wanted a dog!) – for good literature. I also loved Choose Your Own Adventure books, and the Clan of the Bear Bear series for a time, as a teenager. But, then, also Jane Eyre and The Lord of the Rings…
As for recharging, there is a little island off the coast of Vancouver, BC where I live. I find peace there – even in memory. The ocean, the forest, the wind. Where I live, there are less places to lose myself. That is something I will ponder seriously, because it is one of the serious things lacking where I am.
Thanks for the thoughtful questions.
All the best,
Kelly
